Dear Members,

I'm studying Forestry and I was wondering if I could find any assistance or resources online to help me prepare for the exams.

Some of the topics include Range Management, Afforestation, Watershed Management, etc.

May you please point to any resource that would be easy to understand.

Thank you!

Welcome.

You can start by checking out new and old threads right here. There is a lot of experience and willingness to help. A lot of the guys/gals don't make a big deal about what they know, but if you follow along, you will see the range from college professors to timber industry managers to small to large landholders with an interest in forestry to people with many years of woods work under their belts.

It's sort of a living library of forest knowledge and experience. :)

Stick around and learn. Let us know how your schooling and work experience is progressing. Take pictures and share. Don't forget to fill in your background information. It helps to understand where you are located and what the forests near you are like. You might even make some nearby friends. ;D

Welcome to the board, pull up a stump and sit awhile.

Where are you studying forestry?  Your area would help, so fill out your information.  May help narrow our response.

Thank you! Yes, I'm in Pakistan :)

I'm not studying at a College. I'm studying for a Government held competitive exam for civil service. I had heard Forestry gave good scores soo... lol

It is interesting reading. Not very easy though

I will certainly go through the forum, thank you. I look forward to discussing forests with you.

Well, if you end up getting hired, I'm sure you could post photos of Pakistan's forests and forest practices. I'm sure many here would enjoy that. ;D 8) 8) 8) :snowball:

I needed to ask if it is possible for someone to tutor me online for 3 days, 3-4 hours per day?

I have went through the books and there are some concepts that need some clarity. For instance, types of soil, forest mensuration, surveying, etc.

May you please let me know if that is possible?

Thanks a million!

Welcome qasimali!
Good luck with your studies. If I was young again, I would be into forestry or beekeeping instead of being stuck in a building doing quality engineering. When I get out in the evening, it's dark.  :(
I hope someone can tutor you. We would indeed love to see photos of your forests. You are close to the Himalayan Mountains aren't you?!
