Just found out from Central Boiler that the e-2400 as of 1/1/16 no longer meets the emission standards in the United States for home use. It is ok for commercial use. What bothers me is that my dealer made no mention of this as I purchased a e-2400 in October, its all legal to install and operate as it was installed before 1/1/16. My issue is if I had known this I would have researched the new Edge model better or maybe another brand. Don't get me wrong I really like the e- 2400 and how it operates, just feel not all information was made available during the purchase process.

My dealer buddy told me that the E2400's original EPA Phase 2 certification ran out on Dec 31 and Central Boiler opted not to retest it to the new EPA NSPS standards because of the expense cost to do so after introducing their new lower priced Edge 750 model last year. Sounds like they are selling a lot of them. He said that your E2400 and my E2400 are still considered the "Cadillac" models with a few features not on the Edge units, but this day and age where money is a little tight, people are opting for the "Buick" Edge model. Sounded like the E2400 would have no problem passing the new test, but with the Edge success it didn't make sense to spend the testing money if the market rather have the lower cost
Edge anyway.
