Saturday I gave my new TK2200 a good run. Cut white pine for a customer. After some adjusting, and getting to know the hydraulic controls. I was a little backwards at first. The hydraulics and computer are different than on my TK1600 that I just sold.
I was way behind come noon, only getting through one and a half logs by noon, in part thanks to a 3/8 lag bolt. We stopped to have some venison chili. I felt like working through, but could not pass up the chili. Then back at it.

I finally got into a rhythm with the 2200, and the bearers got the hang of things. I was amazed at how this mill went through the logs. When I start my next job this weekend, I have to put on my big boy pants and see what the 2200 can do.

I took this picture at the end of 6 1/2 hours of cutting. There was also one log cut on the mill to be stacked.
Not sure if I should have posted this in another thread. Feel free to move it.

Nice looking mill!  I wonder what changes TK did to the 2400?  I got a flyer from them, and now it is called the 2500.  I always thought the 2200 would be the best bang for the buck with TK.  Looks like you are proving it!
Congrats on the new mill!

Very impressive.  Nice job.

Nice mill, huge throat. Running it will only get better. Does the blade go to 36" above the deck on your 2200.  Whats that box with the gauge that goes up to 40, haven't seen that on a 2000 mill.  Steve

Tachometer.  I believe the new mills go up to 36"
Boy, back in my day..

The gauge on the left is the tach, yellow button is the glow plug, green button is start and the key is under the green button. The row of little warning lights on left. There are also three gauges on the engine mount facing the operator. These are Temp, Battery voltage, cant remember the last one, I will look tonight.

Yes. the blade goes 36" above the deck, and maximum between guide roller flanges is 34 1/2.
I know it when I have a piece of sticker up against the log stops, it is quite a reach across there from the loading side, but OK even like a short guy like myself.
The 49hp Kubota doesn't even grunt. It appears the engine will out do me, I will just run it where I feel comfortable.

I am sure everyone that does an upgrade, no matter what manufacturer, feels the same as me.

Congrats on the new mill, even after 10 years of off and on sawing I have to look at the hydraulic levers on my LT40.  >:(

Well, I cut some white pine for a customer yesterday. He had a lot of smaller logs, except for the last three. This cant being cut is 532bf. I am still real pleased with the mill. It handles this big log the same as the smaller ones. Not so for the bearers.

The client wanted one inch full width boards.

I have not had a chance to compare other degree blades, to see what ones this mill performs best on white pine. Eighty percent of my cutting is white pine. Maybe someone with similar hp can chime in.

That mill is a beast!  I'm sure you will have a long, happy relationship with it for years to come. :)
