Walnut logs on CraigsList

What a hoot! The guy even gives you a close up of the nails and iron stains in the end of one log. I wonder how many months these yard trees will be reposted before they give up. Today was the second time they posted it, think I should email them, or would that just upset them?

Actually if those are diameters on the small end, that's 471 BF by Doyle scale.  So he's asking about $1 per BF, which is not bad.  Now the obvious metal is a problem, but is likely only in the lower 6ft.  So I would be willing to go look and make an offer to compensate for the metal in the lower portion, If he'd be willing to entertain it.  What is weird is it looks like the metal is in the end or vertical in the tree.

I see at least 4 shiny spots, maybe it's wire fencing? A really straight line of purple on half the log as well. Lots of sapwood too, I'm sure not interested!
