Finally got back to work last week :) :)
On one storm windshield wipers stopped working :o
That cost me a new wiper transmission
Then the next storm on the rear duals I snapped one stud and the lug nuts came loose that's never happened to me and i have plowed for 35 years .
What would make that happen ?
I need a restart to my year  :) :)

i have been plowing and sanding town roads for 20 yrs and driveways for a long time before that. had a f350 yrs ago that did break a few studs. on my f550 that broke several. finaly put all new studs and nuts that took care of it. it is a little heavy with a 10' plow 9 ' wing and 5 yds of sand. it has stood up very well even with the 6.0. usually we run the international and the volvo. the ih has been one tuff rig. the volvo i got last summer and have been real happy with it. also have a f350 with a 9.5 fisher vee. broke a front spring in that yesterday. they all have heated windshield wiper blades. they are well worth the $160. i would never consider plowing with a gas motor. i did have an ih once that was gas but i didnt use it much. in the last 7 days we burned $1000 in fuel. the best bang for the buck would be an early 2000's ford with the 7.3. the 6.0 is fine if the egr cooler is deleted. if you are using a 2yd or larger sander the f450 550 is a lot more truck. bigger frame drive line rear axle real truck tires hub piloted wheels. i have never owned a 6.4 and would not. i do have a 6.7 that is really nice

snowstorm why don't you like the 6.4  I don't have one but was looking at one most all my friends had the 6.0 and they where all junk even after  they where bullet proofed  I have been looking for another95 96 97 ford with the 7.3  but they all look like mine nothing but a rust bucket my driver side front cab mount got so bad it pushed up the floor and couldn't push the brake pedal all the way down  but I beat it back down if my carpet rots out ill have to park it cause I'm not going to get wet with mud and water coming off my front tire  :D my 96 has almost 500k on it and never done anything but 1tranny I never have to add motor oil to it only in the winter cause the cooler leaks when its cold but after it runs for a few min it stops
