Congrats on the new to you tractor.

We used to bale hay for a guy who had a tractor like that. He would haul one big round bale on the front and 1 on the back. Dad said it looked like a smurf hauling 2 twinkies!

Good looking machine, you will wonder how you ever got along without one.
Old doesn't bother me, its the ugly that's a real bummer.

Well Done!       "Leave It To Beaver"............... moderately old saying.

I bought an almost new 1720 4wd about the same as your tractor back in 1990.  It was a distressed sale....the owner was in jail and needed quick bond money.  My intentions were to flip it for quick money.  I was farming at the time with 100 HP tractors and wouldn't want to be seen on a toy like that.

Well the 1720 is still here and the rest are long gone.  I've put better than 3,000 hours in the seat.  Its taken lots of abuse working in the woods.  I've had few problems with the machine and most were owner caused.  Its amazing that I can mow all day and use a ΒΌ of the fuel the zero turn uses on the lawn.

Its a great small tractor and I think you will be pleased.

Larry,
I forgot you had one of them. That lil booger drug that heavy old edger up out of the woods and loaded it too. It was a little more robust than I thought.

Thanks much for the kind words all.  I have been looking for one at the right price and that was compact enough to get in and out of areas I want to get in to. This fellow is original owner and took very good care of it and he gave me a deal I could not refuse. He is in his 70's now, sold off almost all his heavy iron except for this and a full size backhoe and now leases out all his farm land. Ironically enough, he is going to have me auction off the backhoe for him since I got my Auctioneer License back in September of last year.

I picked up a mint shape Bush Hog model 2001 for $200 to go on the back of it. Now looking for a 757 of 758 ford backhoe for the rear if I can find one reasonably. Besides cutting grass and harvesting logs from or auction house property, I will use it to clear snow in winter and to put in a kids train ride, private shooting range, and possibly an RC race car track at that same property. Retirement years are going to be a blast

Great little tractor.
I had the same one when I started out.
Had a farmi 351p winch on the back of it.
Used it to haul all kinds of firewood and logs out behind it.
I would winch everything to the tractor then move it forward to the next spot and winch forward again until I got to my landing.
Learned a lot with that tractor.
Traded it for a bigger tractor years ago.
Still kicking myself for not keeping it.
Work hard. Be rewarded.
