Anyone know what the deal is with the high fire, low fire for central boilers? Mine seems to be in low fire when it needs more air and high fire when it's about to overheat. Seems like it's the opposite of what it should be, it's hard trying to get the thing going when it stays in low fire mode when the water temps cold.

Don't know the year your CB was built, but mine was born in 2009. Once the temp drops and the signal is given to increase the water temp, mine stays in low fire modes for about a minute or two. You can hear the solenoids open.  It then switched to high mode until the water is a few degrees below the cut off temp. Then back to low burn.

If your OWB doesn't get into high mode within a couple of minutes of start up, you've got a controller problem and I'd call CB
My father once said, "This is my son who wanted to grow up and become a doctor.  So far, he's only become a doctor."

Overclocking, which CB gasser do you have? If it does not have a thermocouple like Doc B's, air input levels are determined by a timer. If it has a thermocouple it should go into secondary low at 550 and secondary high at 750.
