Call to geo-lock forest equipment so it won't work in rainforests.

Probably have to geo-lock every thing including chainsaws and axes too to stop that happening. Matches, lighters etc too?

Great idea, what could go wrong? Not like GPS is ever wrong, won't ever be a need to use equipment in emergency situations, and the code won't ever be hacked to include other areas. Sign me up. NOT!

Great idea maybe I could help write the code for all those 518 Cats and Clark skidders working in the rain forest.

Itll be as helpful as EGR, DEF and ELD.  All alphabet soup industry killers from CARB, which probably means "capitalists are really bad."

Buy old skidders, pre regulation units will be worth a fortune once a new mandate goes through.

Yup, our government required machine tool dealers that sell 5 axis machine tools to place a lock on the machine that disables it in the event that it is moved, so it can't be restarted without a code. In theory it's supposed to prevent it from being shipped to a foreign country and used to make weapons of mass destruction against us.

It's all great until the machine takes a decent knock from a hard crash when the upper turret decides to go through the subspindle chuck... realigning the machine was simple. Getting a tech out to reset the machine takes forever. Yet another reason I sold that POS.
