I know there are many post about these design blades already and it is the reason I was tickled when I won a box of Turbo 7's at the Pig Roast.

Since then I developed a favorable opinion of the T7's.  They run very well and flawlessly in all kinds of logs on my "low HP" mill.  (WM advised me not buy them).   You get ample warning when it's time change bands.

I'm looking forward to see how they do when they come back from Resharp.

I think you will find you will like the new turbo 747's much better.
Give them a try.

I thought it was quite funny that everyone said 22hp was not enough for these blades. They run great on my mill and cut great. I will continue to use them.

I think that it is a wonderful tribute that our sawmill/blade manufacturers are constantly doing R&D to develop/improve sawmill blades & designs.  Their not being satisfied with the "status quo" certainly improves our sawing lives.

Jim, I was following your initial sawing and blade concerns and was very happy to see that the 747's released you from your woes.

I am 95% T7° with a few 4° blades left in inventory but it is questionable as to whether I will ever use the 4°'s.  I took advantage of Wood-Mizer's special pricing plus free shipping earlier this year on the T7° blades so I have a heavy inventory of them.

I use the "reject/replacement" option with ReSharp and I may request that 747's be used as the replacement but I seriously doubt that I could ever completely convert over to 747's even if they proved to be the superior blade.  I don't send "nail strikes/questionable" blades to ReSharp because I have no need to maintain my present level of blade inventory.  It would be an expensive venture to start "chasing blades".

Are you folks talking 7/39's or 7/47's.
I have both, however the 7/47's I have not tried as of today.

I'm in the same boat as you, as I'm sure many others are. I also use the resharp/replace service and will have them replace with 747s to give them a try, but maybe I shouldn't. What I don't know may be less expensive  say_what

I recently tried a 747 blade on my LT15WIDE and really liked it.  However, I hit a nail with it and my Resharp place didn't have a replacement for it so they replaced it with a regular 7.   So if you like them make sure your Resharp has replacements if you need one.  I always send nail strike blades back because they can be replaced at a discounted price.

The Turbo 7° cut faster but I don't like the finish the leave on my lumber.
I don't mind on framing lumber.I will still use the ones I have.
The 7°47 turbo seem to stay sharp longer for me and I like the finish.
I still need 4° like today on frozen pine logs.
Was 2° when I started this morning.  :D

Boo,

I think if you check you will find you can use the "Autorefill" option and get a replacement that way at same price. I'd check with your re-sharp. You just send a box of 14 in and get 15 back. I have used it for replacing broken blades.

WV,  I included the 747 blade in a flat pack of 14 other blades.  I think the problem was that they didnt have it in the wide length.  Not yet at least.  I do use the autorefill.

Boo,

Thanks for clarification. I always stick a note in with mine telling them what to autorefill or autoreplace with. I am phasing out everything except my 4 degree DH and will standardize on them eventually and they work best for me.
