these looks like the kind of bolts that hold down a one piece rocker arm assembly.  I found them in mixed hardware from the lowell house.  they are 3 3/16" long total, 9/16" head with 6 lines and an F on the head.  Any use to anyone?  and yes it is raining for what seems to be the 100th day in a row here. :D :D :D

Going back 50 some odd years.  They look like what was called "thimbles" used to put an iron or steel guide in cast iron to spread the pressure of a bolt over alarger area than just a hole in the cast iron.

Best guess on my part.

Look like some kind of 'collets' for centering different size 'rods' in some kind of standard size hole. Now, with that bit of guessing, I have no idea what it would be used for, unless they would go to a tubing bender or rod bender of some kind.

I am in southern NH near Nashua and it has been raining at least 50% of the days especially weekends.  My neighbor at my old place runs a farm stand/greenhouse operation and he is downright depressed.  What kind of wood for an ARK. :D

Guides for the counterweight rope.  8)
I may have been born on a turnip truck, but I didn't just fall off.

Stan i was thinking along those lines, like maybe as a stop for the rope so that it was positively attached to the window.  Anyone fix theses kind of weighted sash double hung windows?  If so how is the rope attached to the window part?

On the windows in my farm house the rope is attached to the window simply with a knot that catches in a slot.  One of this summers projects is to replace all those old windows.

Dan_Shade

the ones I used to have had a pully a the top of the window frame, and then just had a knot at the bottom of the window.  they worked, sorta, I'd imagine it all worked pretty good when that stuff was new :)

Over the years I have installed several hundred replacement windows and removed almost as many wooden units with weights, never saw any that had hardware like that. If it is it may be a regional thing.
I still have no guess what they are. What type of matal are they?

at first I thought they were nickle or pot metal due to color but the refrigerator magnet sticks to them.  I really don't know what they are but did find them in an old fruitcake tin that also had six window pullies and a bunch of older window shade hanging hardware.  My wife and her sister do remember the old weighted windows from the Lowell house but neither of them ever worked on one.  Their parents have both passed, only one left is Uncle Jack so I will show him one when he returns from Florida next month.  Funny, he lived in Hudson NH for many years then bought a place in Hudson Fla. :D :D
