They have a stand up one, like in the second video, set up every year at the Fryeburg Fair. They have a few got and miss engines, and some steam stuff too, I think?

Once I saw a home mad one [from a hay baler]. I was in Montana where they have no hardwood and split pine and d. fir for firewood. The guy that built and ran it had 2 fingers missing.

Ray, I was hoping you had a picture! Don't they have a flat belt rock crushed too?

There could be one there. I don't remember.
Wife was not doing good last year at that time, so I did not want to leave her and go to The Fair. Bad enough I had to leave her while I was working.
I could use a rock crusher!! But I suppose there is not one out there that will take rocks 4 feet and up in my price range.  :D

I can help you out there, it's cheap but rather labor intensive :D

Thanks for the pics and videos. We were brainstorming on things that could be demonstrated with one at the farm museum, one of these would be cool. Of course there was grain milling and ice cream making, a dragsaw, I've seen the little Maytags for washing, vaguely recalling a butterchurn. What else did they run in the early 1900's?

I remember my grandfather on my mothers side running a well pump with one to water the cattle. He also used one to run the vacuum pump to milk cows. He didn't get electricity until da early 60's.

One of the members of our collectors club runs a corn chopper with one, another has an interesting pump set up for demonstration. It moves a lot of water, was probably used for irrigation.

I'm not real comfortable with anything that uses inertia such a "lickety split " style .Too many things that could fail and take off an arm .Years ago in many metal fabrication shops there were many people missing digits from that type of machinery .My deceased wife was missing a hand from 1500 Minster punch press .

Here is a Maytag.  I hate that I made it sideways, but I didn't know.
