After reading everything I could on this forum, I couldn't help myself, I had to jump in. I found a nice looking LT15, 2004 model in Kentucky, fellow built his own trailer for it, and it looks like he did a nice job. 6foot extension and some extra blades, Well heck, I've got 2 more kemo treatments up in Baltimore, an operation, and the doc's say I should go another 20 at least. I'm thinking 50 more. You only live once, so I bought it. Now I know I need several cans of gas, and a cant hook. I have a nice Kubota loader/backhoe that will move the logs, and a decent pile of logs to get started on. What else do you think I need now to get going. Also where does one buy a cant hook. Thanks for any and all advice. Don

Click on the LogRite tools add on the left of this page. Their can't hooks are the best, easy to use and top quality.

congratulations on the mill.
I have an lt also.  I bought 2 logrite hooks and would not trade them for the world.  I bought a 60" for rolling and a 24" for when you want to turn and hold in position while you clamp it down.
Have fun and post some pics of your first boards.

Don,

Welcome to the FF and congratulations on the mill purchase.

I am sure you will enjoy it.  I run a Peterson 10" WPF down in Southern Maryland, Charles County.

Drop by if you want to play with a swing mill or talk about sawing.

I'd recomend two cant hooks.  The LogRite 60" and LogRite 30".   The 60"er for loading larger logs onto the mill and turning them.  The 30" for turning the cant and smaller logs.

Wood-Mizer now has the LogRite cant hooks in 30",48" and 60".  AND they are ORANGE to match the LT15.

Thanks for all the info, and yes the mill was listed in sawmill exchange. I talked to a fellow named Brian at the exchange and he really was helpful. kinda pointed me in the right direction. I won't be able to pick the mill up for a couple of weeks, but the seller is delivering it to my daughters, and I will visit with the grand kids when I go pick it up. In the mean time I will keep learning from you guys and order up a couple of hooks. I'd also like you all to know that for a few days after these kemo treatments, you just can't get yourself going to do much. I have found that sitting and reading the humor, and stories, and advice that is posted here just gets me through those days a little better. So thanks for that too. Don

Congratulation on your Mill,    I have to agree on the cant hooks, get a couple
Logrite cant hooks & start making that saw dust. Good luck with your Mill

As soon as I set her up, I"ll cut a few boards, and post some pics. in fact I'll take a few of the campground, and anybody travelling through the Shenandoah valley can stop by for a dip in the pool, a cold drink, or if you have a camper or tent, stay the night, as my guest. Of course you will have to give me some advice or war stories while you are here. Don

I would think the Logrite blue would stand out better against your WM orange so you could find it better.  8) 8) Congrats on your new to you mill.
