Just saw a local ad for one of these. Guy said it is brand new, 1987 model Sachs Dolmar 120 Super. Had 2 others just like it and those have always ran fine, so this one was never used. Never started, nor has it had gas/oil in it. 30" bar and chain. Just from looking at the pics, I feel like his description is probably accurate. My question is, what is it worth? (assuming it runs) What's fair, a good deal, or just too high? Also, anyone with experience, is this a good saw? How does it compare to say, Husqvarna 372XP? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems like it has sentimental value, so I'm not sure I'd be able to make a deal, but I'd be interested to know what the parameters should be.

My brother used one for several years daily, the motor was still good when he stopped using it, the only issues were the muffler cracked and the reason why he stopped using it was the ignition is under the flywheel and screws that hold the ignition backed out and caused it to twist and break the wires off.

I do remember another one that the screws backed out within a week from new and caused the ignition damage so I would be tempted to pull the fly wheel and put locktite on the screws before putting it to work.

Sorry, I can't help you with the value but keep in mind that it is a 30+ year old saw, that can be difficult to find some parts for.

I would really like to find one in that condition but not for what guys are asking around here. That was a good saw, a bit heavy for its size but lots of torque.
