The green elbow keeps popping out of the white vent tube . Done it three times in the last few weeks . I bought the saw new about 2 months ago from Chainsaw Direct . I can push it back in wit the screw driver end of a scrench but can't get it to stay . He uses the saw daily so it's kinda hard to turn it over to the local dealer for warranty repair . They have had my 272xp for three weeks so they ain't real fast . Any ideas , I used to be a fair car mechanic but I do not have any experience behind a wrench on saws. Any advice appreciated .

Ended up taking it to local Husqvarna dealer for problem diagnosis and repair . Took 4 trips to get it fixed . First three it would stay in anywhere from a day to a week before it came out again . On the fourth trip they decided to replace not only the vent and elbow but the whole handle/tank assembly . That fixed it . They kept the saw anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks per trip . Last trip they did not get the cover back on correctly so the first time Parker started the saw it sounded like the saw was gonna fly apart . Went back for the 5th time so they could replace the busted flywheel .

Saw runs like a top now but I doubt I will ever buy another Husky . One of the guys Parker works with went with him to pick up the saw on the last trip and bought a new 395 from thim . Its been back twice already in as many months .

I had a 372 rebuilt in a week at my dealer. Only had a few repairs on mine. Boot was replaced years ago. I would not be happy with that "dealer".

I don't know for certain with Husky but in many cases to become a dealer all one has to do is purchase about $5K worth of product and hang a shingle, as a result you get those places that don't know anything about the product they are selling and sure don't know how to work on them.

Another potential issue is that you bought the saw from a discount place on line, which is likely nothing more than a guy and a computer who drop ships, does not keep any inventory, has no brick and mortar expenses, and gave them the sale and profit, but now expect the local guy to give you the service.  May not feel right from the consumer side, but it sure doesn't feel right from the dealer side either.

The more i keep reading about Husky dealer service problem dealings, the more i feel i better stick with my Sthil dealer and Sthil chainsaws.

Well, it's all in who runs the shop. I had Stilh and the local guy didn't know how to work on them, I ended up replacing the jug and piston myself to fix it right, so that let me to looking around.  Found the Husky dealer I use when I had turned the carb out of adjustment to the point I could no longer get it back right.  First went to a local small engine shop who told me the saw was junk, no compression, buy one of their new saws - funny, I knew what the issue was since I was the one who caused it.  Found the dealer I now do business with, told them what I had done, $15 dollars later, a new spark plug, and a tuned up saw I was out the door.  Since then they have sold me multiple 372's, bars, and many loops of chain.  All depends on who is running the business.

From reading and watching the online videos, if i feel my local Sthil dealers service guy does not understand my problem, i will box up my saw and UPS or FedX it off to West Coast Saw, it's a small one man run shop run by Gordy Perrigo it's where the guys at Eastside Tree Works send their chainsaws.

Sometimes that's the best option.  Wicked Work Saws in Tennessee does a great job too, need to send him a 372 and get it woods ported.

I worked in the industry for years and saw both sides. I had people with me who worked hard to learn and serve the customer, others who didn't know and didn't know they didn't know. The local Stihl dealer, a friend and FF member Paul_H is a former logger who understands his customer and has built a loyal following, the Husky dealers aren't happy and won't cooperate with him but it's their own fault.

There is a guy called 'The ChainSaw Guy' from a saw shop on the coast in Oregon. He has a lot of saw shop vids on YouTube called 'Shop talk'. He's semi retired now, but his saw knowledge goes back to the 60's. He claims he has worked on hundreds of thousands of saws. He's probably the best I've ever seen.

I had heard on another site that some people were not getting their saws back. Use caution.
