I'm liking that tool bag!  I'm beginning to see a combination of OG's smaller zipper bags, socket keepers, Velcro and maybe Plano boxes in some sort of combination.  It seems when I was teaching I could organize a shop, create tool storage, and organized tool rooms with ease.  I just haven't been that focused on my own tools until recently and I think it because I've finally reached the point I need to straighten out what's taken years to mess up!     :D

Yeah, I just checked their site again. That is called a gatemouth hopalong. No zipper. It is a newer design. I like a top closure, it keeps trying hands out and junk from falling in. But as I said, it's gotta work for you.

I now use waterproof 3 tool boxes. They basicly hold all my tools. One has pull out drawers for wrenches, and meter, and such, the other is for screw drivers, screws, nails, and the last is for my battery tools, hammer drill, skil saw, grinder, impack drill, 1/2" impact gun for the FAOR on the mill.  They are on a skid in the back of the truck. I can fork them out with the forklift when I'm at the shop, or sugar bush, or if I am going somewhere where they might disapear, but they are so heavy I doubt anyone will lift them out.  They are also stackable and on wheels so I can wheel them around. I have 3 places I travel to and from and am always doing something that needs a tool that is at the other place. I also need tools when I am portable on the mill, not as much with the new mill compared to the old 93.

My largest dislike with a tool bag is the outside pockets. To easy for expensive tools to fall out and get lost.

So this thread got me and my tool bag talking about a better way.  We decided the goal is to have no loose tools.

I started searching and came across some interesting bags. One type is a roll up with zippered bags all in one.

The other two are typical roll up type.

With the hammer being the only loose tool, I'm happier with my old tool bag.  And the old tool bag probably won't sleep in the bed of the truck.  It likely will be upgraded to under the back seat.

I appreciate the ideas.

BTW I did order a Hopalong 16.  It's too small.  It will be used for something else. My wife was eyeing it
