I had my first real problem with the Lt40 .  The starter quit and WM or Onan don't have parts for the T260G anymore.  So looks like it will be aftermarket.  It is 1989 LT40 with 550 actual hrs on it,  I have owned it since 1991.

I would bet there would be a place that rebuilds starters somewhere around you.  There are far fewer models of starters than there are brands of engines.

This one was at the top of the list in a Google search:  https://www.armature-exchange.com/

Yup, find an old school alternator shop, probably have the parts in a box covered with dust in the back corner. Those guys are heroes.

If you can't find a local place google Boomers Influence Onan Parts. He deals only in new and used Onan parts. Super knowledgeable on Onan and has always had what I needed.

Thanks guy's  Really what I needed was a solenoid, It is non repairable.  I can rebuild the starter motor myself.  A new solenoid is half the price of the whole thing.  Now with a new alternator belt we will be ready for another 30 years.

Just looked from my parts supplier it appears to be a Mitsubishi solenoid. Any rebuild place should have them in stock. It would be cheaper and faster than me getting one shipped to me and then to you.
