Is it just me? When these commercials come on asking for money for veterans it just makes me see red! Im a Vet and the Va is a great organization, especially since they cleaned up their act. Showing video of injured Vets, missing limbs etc. Some one explain to me why we send millions and billions to other countries and our veterans have to beg for money. Sorry, just had to vent. Your opinions please?

The next time you see one of those commercials take note of the name of the organization then check them out on Charity Navigator - Your Guide To Intelligent Giving  to see if they are on the up and up. Lots of "veteran" charities are in name only and give only a pittance to veterans. What ought to make you see red is these organizations using veterans as bait to get your money. Even the good ones keep an awful lot of the money.
