Oil breather change

Has anyone ever changed an oil breather on a stihl? I believe mine is stuck open. I've tried cleaning it with no luck so have ordered a new one but im unsure how to remove the old one. Any tips?

Assuming you mean the breather valve for the bar oil tank. According to my MS261 manual you need to punch it through into the tank with a pin punch. Then tap the new one in to a certain depth. I haven't needed to do this repair though, so no practical experience. Maybe other members can weigh in on that front.
