Does anyone build one for a forwarder to pickup and carry back in the woods? I know I can build one. But was wondering if anyone actually sells one.

Texted a marketplace ad to your phone, I believe it's what your looking for. 🤷‍♂️

I chained my 100 gallon tank to blade on forwarder so I can still come out fully loaded.

Well the one barge sent is to big for my little operation but it gave me better internet search results and it looks like they are built to order. And nothing in the US.

Leeroyjd you have a good point. I have a 100 gallon two compartment tank I don't like. Maybe I should just use that one. Take a day out and get it done. Make it hook to the blade. I have a round one also I used as is. Just gravity, no pump. I don't recommend round or gravity 😆

I don't think that one in Maine is a bad deal. See alot of that style over in Europe.
Friend of mine has the fancy 500gal Trans-cube, says that 525C gets a little light sometimes.

I've had this one a while, it's ok. Got 2x slim tool boxes I've wanted to mount on the front, solar charger and battery. You can pick it up with the blade, I typically swing it with the loader on and off.

Would like to build one that's 150-200gal, with a full size job box for filters, tools, spot to carry 4-6pails of oil, for what I do that would be handy.

The ones in NZ, come with a 'lift handle' for a grapple to lift and carry the fuel about the skid site/ landing.

Quite common to have a 30 tonne track log loader swinging the 'fuel drum'.

The smallest is 766 US gallons/ 2900 liters, approx weight full is 8300lbs/ 3.8 metric tonnes.

Perhaps construct a smaller version (top handle fuel drum) the forwarder can pick up with the crane so the fuel drum can be anchored down on the forwarder's bunk. Maybe put a fuel drum on an iron mule depending on the terrain, stumps, rocks etc, that can be put on/ off a pickup's trailer for refilling with the deere forwarder crane.

The machine holds 100 gallons. So when it's low and I fill it about 75 gallons. I just don't need anything more than 100. I'd be happy with 50. I didn't expect them to be $2-5,000. That's crazy I think. And no pump yet. I can have one made here or do it myself. But I'm finding I'm always short on time. Also the bigger it is the harder to go job to job. That's another problem I'm having. Was leaning towards a job trailer but that has its own problems. So priced new utility bed today for one of my trucks. $10,500 and I have to install it. Well then I'm prolly pushing over weight and won't have room to put that big fuel tank in anyways. 😂 guess I'm leaning towards a big service truck or box truck more everyday. There's no good answer. Trying to find a happy medium between cost, convenience and theft is not possible.

Place I used to work had one that one of the guys made. very simple and cheap angle iron and box frame with a grapple handle. We used an L shaped 100gal tank and a pickup toolbox combo for hyd. And bar oil pails. I carried it out into the woods everyday in front of the forwarder but we had timberpros so that was a simple way.

Sometimes I would leave a hole for it in the top of the load and nestle it in there coming out at end of the day.

Yeah I need to take the time and make one. I'm going to take this dual tank I have. Just use 50 gallons for fuel and the other 50 gallon side I'll cut the top out into a door. Mount the pump down inside that. So the hose and pump is out of harms way. Throw some tools and bar oil in maybe. See what happens. But I want it to have the two hooks to go on the forwarder blade.

FJ, why couldn't you use just a round 100 gallon tank, and fabricate what you need to be able to pick it up?
Too many irons in the fire

Along with hooks to carry it on the blade I would build a handle on the top so the forwarder can easily lift it on and off a truck or trailer.

I have that now. It's just a propane tank. One that stands up. At least 125 gallons I'd say. I've never filled it. Has a hook you can lift it with the forwarder. Hold it up and has a fuel nozzle that just gravity feeds. It works when I need it but rolls around no matter how you transport it and really needs a much larger hose to gravity feed. I guess I could just make that one a lot better. The propane tank is nice because it's so thick. And I have no money into it. Just stuff I had.
