I'm attempting to make my hydraulic milemarker winch run on my tractor's hydraulic system.

The tractor is a Kubota MX5400 with a remote hydraulic port on the back that I typically have hooked up to a hydraulic top link.

My idea was to unhook the tilt function of the loader at the quick disconnect at the valve body and run new hoses to the back with a pioneer coupling to hook up the winch.

I completed all of this and can only get the winch to turn one way.  If I reverse the couplings at the valve body, the winch will reverse direction.

I tried hooking directly to the factory rear remotes, and the winch stalls in both directions.

What type of valve/remote is needed to run a hydraulic motor in two directions?

Do you have a hydraulic schematic you can share. If so I can take a look and see what I can figure out.
Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.

Thanks, I don't have a schematic.  Not sure where to find one.

The hydraulic motor will run if I engage the tilt up (curl) function.   Engaging the tilt down (dump) doesn't seem to do much.  I can hear it load the engine, but it moves at the same speed (gravity fed down) with the engine not running.

I've been reversing hoses to make it work.

It's kind of like the tilt down doesn't directly return fluid to the reservoir.

I'm wondering if the rear remotes return to the "power beyond" circuit rather than the tank.

I've made it work for what I'm currently doing, but I'd like to be able to power a skid steer disconnect hydraulic post hole digger in the future.

When you tilt down, is it powered down or is it gravity down? If gravity down then that function has a 3 way spool. You need a 4 way spool to have power in both directions.

This may help, not sure

I have a Dresser dozer with a ripper on back and a removable hydraulic wood splitter
Have 2 valves mounted, push both in one direction ripper will operate, other way splitter works

I'm not real familiar with Kubota tractors, but must are not power down on the rear implement valves.

I would call WRLong they make add on valve kits, some with thumb switches that are in the loader joystick handle and give power both ways for things such as grapples and stuff.  I have one on my big tractor and love it.

This would give you the ability to run your winch from the joystick button.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

The only mile marker that I have seen has electric controls. You may be missing some switches?

Dan_Shade

I bypassed the solenoids and was using the valve on the tractor to control the direction.

If I end up using it again, I'll plumb and wire the Solenoids to control in and out.
