Should be delivered by Christmas.  Going to be one long wait!  I'm staying busy working on bucking and sealing logs from blow down trees on my property.  I have done a lot of reading on this forum and let me say thanks to all of you who have been most helpful in helping me work through my learning process and decision making.  Hopefully I will be able to meet some of you in the near future.  What a great bunch of folks you all are!  Ga. Boy had me over to his mill site to work with the WPF 10/27 several weeks ago and gave me a great indoctrination on use of the swingmill.  Thanks Mark!  I was pretty well set on getting the ATS, but further reading and research on this forum got me to thinking about the benifits of a clip on slabber for the mill.  I did a lot of soul searching as well as bank account seaching as I walked through the woods and tallied up all of the potential red and white oak crotch sections that might make nice slabs.  Well I decided on it and added it to the final order.  Sure hope it pays off.  I am a little worried about drying the red oak slabs as it sounds like they are very prone to splitting, but I'm going to give it a shot.  Got several nice crotches cut and sealed ready to open up.  Will post a few pics soon to see what you all think.  Anyway, it is great to be here and look forward to enjoying the same passion of milling as so many of you!

Sure Mark.  Got to pay for that thing some way!  I'll keep you posted on the progress of my shipment.  We could do some serious tag team events with your WPF 10 and my ATS set up with the slabber!

Congrats of the mill Troy.  Welcome to the ranks.

When I first joined it seemed like the swingers were a minority but now we're closing the gap.

Thanks Guys!  Glad to be here.  Checking out the forum will help ease the agony of anticipation while waiting for my mill to arrive!

Hammond,  I appreciate all of you help.  Sorry about the extended phone call.  (For the rest of you... my 3 year old daughter answered the phone and had a long conversation with the caller as I was trying to find out who it was.  Not Grandma this time, just long distance from New Zeland!).

Welcome aboard Troy 8)
My son has an ATS 827 as well. We have really enjoyed it and have put it to some pretty good use in the 5 months that we have had it. I say "we", but Jacob has not let me run it much. He enjoys it so much that I can't talk him into letting me run it any. >:(

How's young Jacob doing with his Patented invention, Jeff ??
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

Hi Harold,
Jacob went back and decided to add a modification to his tool to make it more unique and to make his prototype out of all metal pieces. We got bogged down with the patient search for simular tools. He also needs to come up with a ring gear. He is discouraged at this point. I don't want him to give up because he is so close to having the prototype complete, but he has little motivation at this point.
We showed it to a friend of ours who has several patents to his credit and he was really impressed and thought that it was a workable idea.
We just don't know where to go from here.
One company we talked to wanted 11k$ to market the idea for us. We just don't have that kind of extra cash.
Thanks for asking.
