Furby, The table was my grandparents so I will still keep it. Slabs, the wood is oak.  The table is a square 4 leg type that extends with leaves. As I said it is very wiggly which is why we are are looking for a new one.  Interesting discussion on the quality of the Amish furniture, I assumed that they hand build it all. It dosen't matter to me what anyone uses to power their equiptment as long as the QUALITY is there. Having no Amish or Menonites near us I cannot relate to the difficulties some have had dealing/ competing with them.  I am sure they are no different than us, some are honest and true craftsmen and others leave something to be desired.

Can't stop my self,  what goes clip-clop-clip-clop-bang---bang----bang-clip-clop?

For the one guy that doesn't know, that is an Amish Drive-by shooting.

The Amish aint the only ones that know how to market an image . Back in the early 80s, I worked in the finishing department of a knife company called Chicago Cutlery. At the stores that sold the knives, there would be a pile of sales brochures with the front cover picture of an old white haired guy in a shop apron sittin in front of a foot pump grinding stone, sharpening a knife. The heading was " Made in the Old World Tradition, by master American craftsmen"..... The reality was them knives were being made by a bunch of 18 to 23 year olds, wearing AC/DC t-shirts, and most of em smoked their lunch :D

I wasn't going to ask, but... You weren't 18-23 in the early 80's were you? And what did you have for lunch, 'cause the saw I bought from you was wrapped in an old AC/DC t-shirt. ;)
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
