OK I have been jumped enough so here it is.

February 3rd & 4th is the Farm Show in Little Rock AR. at the State Fair Grounds.   WoodMizer will be there with a few mills and sometimes others show up as well.   Baker told me they were not able to make it this year.  There is all kinds of equipment and tractors with lots of vendors.  The grounds open at 9 am and is free.
I am providing logs for WM to saw but will not be there till Saturday morning to look around and visit.   I help them out most of the day.  Then I have to load up my lumber and head back to the hills.

Here is a link to the Fair Grounds.   I will warn you that this is the Walnut side of town so when you drop off of I 30 have plenty of fuel and such.  It is not that it is real bad but some folks get shy around that many brothers.  Me and my blue eyes fit in just fine.   There are a few stop lights then the Fair Grounds are on the left.

Thanks for the update!

Say,  is it as big a farm show as the one that's in Springfield, MO in the fall?

As much as a like forestry shows, I also like to go to the farm shows and see all the new equipment and stuff.  Even if you're after sawmill things, there is often a lot more other stuff there that will work right in that may not be at a forestry show.

It is a little bit smaller then Springfield show but it is a good one.   Lots of stuff to see.   Being Feb alot of stuff is inside which some years makes it nice.   Being in Little Rock it should be mid 40's or better.
Last year there was a guy there that had a deal that would pick up pecans by just rolling it over the ground like an old reel mower.

I wonder if it'd pick up acorns the same way?  I don't have a pecan tree on the place but then again,  I don't have a used for acorns.

GrandPa gave me a sling shot and put an old bushel basked on a post in the hog pen.  Said that he bet I could not shot 25 acorns in a row throught that old basket.   We did not have any acorns/hickory nuts in the yard in no time and some very happy hogs.

You know a swing mill has never even showed it ugly head at the Farm Show in Little Rock.   Never seen one up at Springfield either!   Guess they are chicken to run head to head with band mills in a place where common sense still flows like a creek. ;)

We've got an old frying pan stuck in the front yard by it's handle.  Uncle Chris got the girls a slingshot each for Christmas.  They've used it for target practice.  Their ammo - acorns.

Say,  Where's Rmay on this post?  He usually makes it to the L.R. Show don't he?

Arky, I dinged Scott Bailey @ Jackson TN. to see if they were going. It's just about the same for me either way. Lt. Rock or Jackson TN. Waiting on his reply.

Didn't hear from Bailey's in Jackson yet. Got this from Chris at Woodmizer. "We will have a LT15 and a LT40 Hydraulic sawmill. If you would like more info you can e-mail us back. Thanks"

As soon as it stops raining I am going to put a few more logs on the trailer and head to Little Rock and drop them off for WM.  Looks like the weather is going to be nice for the show Saturday.  I have to bring some orders down for customers but should be around from opening till closing.

315 miles round trip, bout 2 1/2 hr each way. Had to slow down for dem Arky Patrols wid da bubble gum machines. Will had a LT 15 & Hydraulic LT40 there from Missouri, both were sold. The 15 showed it's guts and glory. I was kinda taken by ability the little gal had. The LT40 Hydraulic was sweet W/ 34 HP Cat. Never herd the gov. called for. She just ginned the way she was designed.  It was cool enough, I was glad I took gloves and helment with ear muffs to help. I tailed mostly to keep warm when I could help. Cold wind blew all day. Ear muffs helped keep em warm more than keeping the sound out. Sun was shining and wind died in the PM.  Arky made it there, I was introduced to folks, but I'm terrible at remembering names. I remember faces very well. Arky had his little girl log dog there. She was shaking from the cold till the sun came out. I think I shamed him into holding her in his coat till then. He did and she got real comfy. They had some nice equipment at the Lt. Rock Farm Show. I made it back home bout 2 1/2 hrs. Fired the grill up, the black angus sirloin went down fine. Hope everybody else made it home safe and sound. Glad to have met all of you I can't remember your names, Chris.

It was a good day of sawing and jawing.  There was some new FF members there as well as old ones like Rmay and his main man Sam.   You that do not make a chance to get together and meet like this really miss out.  It was good to see Chris again and Buck showed up as well from accross the River.  I had to drop off two loads of lumber on the way down to the show and make a sale or two during the show.   We got in lots of visiting and there were some nice toys there.  Prices have really gone up on tractors.  I was amazed at the number of new brands that were there.
Just about got wiped out in Conway on I40 on the way home.  LBJ got throwed around the cab a bit and I am not sure them pants will come clean or not.   :o  Pert near had a mbdft of lumber and 3 logs scattered down the interstate was going to be in need of a new truck.  Some how I missed every thing and every one and kept the trailer on it's wheels.  A guy in a 1 ton flat bed Ford came on the interstate with a new RIDGID Job box on the back of truck still in the box.  There was a car off of the back corner of the trailer and a 18 wheeler behind me.  Boy in the Ford truck nailed it and  got in front of me running 65 mph.  Just as he was pulling away from me the cardboard box started lifting on the job box then the whole thing flipped off the truck onto the interstate in front of me.  I hit the breaks and missed the cardboard box, the pallet it was sitting on and the steel box making lots of sparks.  The 18 wheeler behind me was awake and locked up the brakes and all I could see behind me was grill and tire smoke.  In all the braking and dodging my trailer started wobbling and I used the whole interstate to line it back out once I cleared the junk in the roadway.  I got lined out just in time to make my exit on HY 65 north so I just kept going.  Do not know what happened behind me as I was in need to get home.
It seems some guy killed some people in a Gay Bar last week up North.  Well he was stopped 20 miles from my home and killed a cop who I knew on the side of the road about the time my wife and daughter were to be on that road going to my daugher's birthday party in Mt Home.  There was a big police chase going on and the info I was getting on the radio was not helping me settle down none attall.  So LBJ and I flogged it home all the way.  Wife and daughter came though just after Jim was shot and killed and they caught the guy in Norfork and killed him there after he shot the gal riding with him.
Other then That I had a great weekend.

Very sad about the SOB killing the officer in Arkansas. Good thing he died, since a liberal lawyer would have said he did it due to bedwetting or spanking when he was a child.  >:(

Arky,  better check your blood pressure.!  What a couple of deals!

Say,  didn't you take a camera along? Anything new out of WM?

Bibby, I got a brand new single shot Ithica 410 shotgun for Christmas when I was 14. My first gun. Went on a family trip to visit family asked dad if I could take the gun to show it off and to shoot it at my grandparents out in the country. Well, got down there, forgot all about taking the shotgun shells. One cusin said "That's okay son, it's just the Burchfield in ya." :D

Guess what? Leaving Memphis, went by the office and picked up the digital camera. Got over there found a good place up high to take a pic of the WM area with the mills and all the folks around. Punched the take a picture button and nothing happend. Looked at the screen which sain "No memory stick." Terrible thing how history repeats itself. :'(

Arky, shure glad you and LBJ didn't get hurt and made it home okay.

Left the camera with the kid for birthday photos.

WM is giving away Husky chain saws with mill purchase.  Better mill gets better saw.  I think the LT10 gets a cross cut saw though.  ::)
