Thinking of taking the boys to CA for a vaction this summer. My youngest is insisting that we go see the Redwood trees in Redwood National Forest. Also would like to go out to Crater Lake.
I know a lot of you are from that part of the country, any other recommendation of places to visit?
thanks in advance

Tillaway

Praire Creek Redwoods State Park is a good place to visit, so is Redwood National Park.  Yosemite if you can swing it.  There is plenty of good grazing in Cali so I may be able to help with some choices.

Crater lake is cool but be sure to drive north on Highway 97 and visit central Oregon and maybe camp at some of the lakes, East and Paulina come to mind but there are more.  Also there is a big obsidian flow on the way to those lakes.  Its pretty neat.  If you make it to Washington stop by and visit Mt St Helens, I heard it put up a big steam plume today.

PM me for specifics if you wish.
Making Tillamook Bay safe for bait; one salmon at a time.

The BLM lost coast is pretty cool up in Mendicino county. Lassen volcanic national park is a lot of fun as well located in Lassen county.
Yosemite is definatly worth the trip, with the amount of rain we got this year the falls should be awsome

I second Tillaway's suggestion of Yosemite--if you're out there, it'd be a shame to not visit there.  How old are your boys?  Would they be up for a little hiking?  Down in the valley, Yosemite is a drag--sorta feels like a city.  But if you can go for a bit of a hike, then you can see some really cool stuff. Though even a drive through the valley is worth it.  There's nothing quite like Yosemite.
Y'all can pronounce it "puh-SKOLLY"
