After tailing log siding at a friends mill for a couple of days, he offered me this conveyor for $0.00, so being frugal, I accepted.

This should make a resaw for my Oscar 18 to make 2x into 1x with a couple of tires for hold downs before and after the band blade. It will also need a separate motor for power and the right pulley combo for speed of travel.

Nice find! If it doesn't resaw it sure looks like it would load fire wood in a trailer or take slabs away to a pile 8)

I know it needs a new belt, and some cosmetic work. Will have to cut a notch out on both sides so my blade will lower down to the right height. I'm thinking a horizontal shaft gas motor with a go-cart style centrifugal clutch and chain drive. This whole unit will be a "drop in place" type, secured to the mill bed rails some how, and the mill head held stationary. Still lots of thinking and tweaking the idea, along with some of the resaw threads on this topic for inspiration and guidance.

add some hinged blocks so you can raise one side and make siding.

Tim, that never even crossed my mind, thanks for the tip.Just more to ponder and cogitate about. If I take a year or two, just might have enough ideas to start putting this together. I don't want to rush in and then have to redo the whole thing.
