Quality Time With Dad

A year ago my Mom had a stroke and cancer surgery.  She is doing great now,  but needs a lot of help.  Dad went from spending almost full time helping around the farm and mill to taking care of Mom.  He's done a wonderful job and still helps with the care and repair of the machinery,  but he doesn't get to do much for fun.  Yesterday was a beautiful day and as I was mowing my lawn,  Dad pulls up in his pickup.  He had his 'sihil -on-a- stick' and asked if I had any trees that needed trimming.  There were a couple of limbs on the lane to the mill that our slab hauler had complained about,  so we removed them.  Then I remembered the limbs thet were rubbing our flu cap and causing an awful racket to come from our fireplace.  We looked them over and decided that they were too high.

After a short 'pow-wow',  we decided that we both had some old shotshells that probably shoud be used up.  We both soon appeared on the roof with four shotguns and a bunch of old shells.  If anyone should have come buy during the next half hour,  they would have been shocked to see two old geezers up on my roof blasting away. :D :D  We had the best time trimming those offending limbs,  and a few others for good measure 8) 8)
