I am a light user and am still using a Dolmar 116 with 20" bar that may be
18-19 years old.  My dealer says he can no longer get air filters.
Anybody know where to get these?  Also, if I quit this saw and buy a new one, it would be Husky or Stihl,  BUT WHAT MODEL, for the approx. same size and weight but with just a bit more power?

Simonian

Is the air filter only thing wrong?  If so get some fine material put some oil on it wrap it around the old air filter and run the saw tell it quits. May be years. The 115 and 116 were very nice saws. I do not think much of their new ones. I know Jonsered and Husky the 2159 or the 359 would be a good replacement. But I still think you have time on the 116

The 116 is in the 60cc range.
Do you have a picture of the filter?

I just bought 2 new air filters for my 116si last month from a dealer. If it is okay with the moderators I can direct you to his site. I bought them online from a dealer around 1500 miles from here. They are nice guys. Bought the 116 and a new 5100 from them.

I also have a Jon 2159 and Stihl 361. The old Dolmar is more than a match for the newer saws for blocking firewood.

No problem here, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the information.  I sent an e-mail to "Fastcutting" asking for availability and pricing.  If they havn't responded by Monday afternoon, I will call them.

My Dolmar 116 seems to have good power- but it is slow to start if it has not been run in a few days-  8 to 15 pulls to get the first pop, then 2 or 3 more to start up.  My father-in-law still has his Dolmar 119 which really runs good.  He still uses it once in a while, he is 88.  Good saws.

Kevin- you asked about a picture.  I have not posted on this forum- I will try to figure out how.
Thanks.
