I've got a mess of 3/4" pitch timberwolf bands, I need a sharpening cam for them.  Anybody have any leads on where to get one?

Woodmizer or Cook either one will sell you a 3/4 pitch cam.  Whether it will  fit the band you want to sharpen may be the question.  You can make the band fit the cam that you buy though.

I had some 3/4 pitch bands and was able to do a fair to middlin' job by dressing my stone radically.

I also discovered that I could turn the adjustment holder for the pushing ram over and get a deeper gullet, which translated into a shorter pitch.  All you have to do to try it is remove the one bolt that holds it on the cam, turn it over and put the bolt back.  It's not in front of me now, but I think that will put the push rod on top of the bolt rather than it being under-slung.  It has more of a downward push but will still move the blade forward OK.

It'll make an experiment for you to try anyway.  :)

The bands that we use on our resaw are 3/4 pitch.  I didn't know that you couldn't sharpen them with a 7/8 pitch cam.  I just put them on and adjusted the two knobs just like I do for every blade and it did a fine job.  I've been doing that for a few years even though I now know that you can't do that ;D ;D  Try it,  it won't cost you anything except your time and possibly a blade.

Cooks will make a cam for any blade or sharpener. Just tell them what you want. LeeB
