I am wondering if anybody out there has had any experience with the Hudson sharpener.

Howdy Steve, I once thought about gettin one but realized it would take a lot of sharpenings before it paid for it's self. I don't saw enough to justify the cost, instead, I send my blades to WoodMizer for resharpening. They have done a great job.

Hi Brian
Thanx for the reply.  I looked at a resharp service, but in our area it is too expensive.  I looked at several sharpeners in my price range, but all were manually operated.  The Hudson is the only automatic that I have found for the price.  It would be nice to hear from someone who has experience with one before I go and show them the money.
Thanx again

I picked up a used WM sharpener for about the price of the hud-son.  i'd look around for the used ones, and save my pennies until I could get one.

I think I paid WM $9.00 a blade. I figure an even $10. per after shipping. They were around $23. new. I think they also set the teeth while their at it.

10 bucks adds up quick if your going through blades.

Cooks charges 7$ for sharpening.  And my 14' blades are i think 16.60 each, couple dollars more for their super sharps.  I got a box but haven't tried them yet.  I like the Munks they sell. You also have to pay for shipping.  Cookssaw.com if you want to check.  They even sell and sharpen for WMs.  Jim

I pay zero. Got a used Wm sharpener and setter and do my own. Best investment I've made in a while.  ;)

the thing with sharpening blades is opportunity cost.  it takes a while to sharpen and set bands, it all depends on how much stuff you have going on the big scheme of things.  :)
