Does anyone have a load/span calculator for cantilevered floor joists?  Would like to extend the loft out over the wall by about 3-4 feet.  Would this be within the capabilities of #2 KD SPF 2"X10" placed 12" OC?  Would be balanced on the other side by 15' of loft floor.  I would be using 20' 2"x10"'s

2' is the most I've seen in almost all situations without any external support.

Furby,

Is that regardless of spacing?  I could get by with 2' but it would be tight.  I am thinking of placing a trap door with retractable ladder to access the loft space and would like it at least 32"

Like I said, I've never seen anything more then 2'.
I'm sure Don P will be able to help you out though. :)

According to Don Ps calc Cantilever Beam , using your figures, you could go out 3 feet as long as the load per foot is not over 37 pounds. Don can get more technical with the info i am sure.
