After being nagged  ;) ;D by my wife for what amounts to years now and having my parents make the same suggestion I have made an appointment for a physical.  I haven't had a complete physical in 16 years or so and it's way past due.  I'll be 39 in June.  So July 17th at 8:45 AM I've got an appointment.  Events this past weekend  :( :'( gave me the big and final push to get it done.

I recently had one after some pushing and shoving from my girlfriend. ::) It was quite painless, well, one part was not so pleasant, and the peace of mind is priceless. I do need to get more exercise and shed a few pounds though. As you say, this weekend's events should tell us that the unexpected can happen at any age. :(

Had mine at the V A clinic last summer, cute young lady doctor, very professional, the only time she blushed was afterwards, when I explained "This usually is preceeded by several dates and dinners, and not with a stranger." ;) ;) Now that we know each other, shouldn't be a problem this year.

I have not had any regular ones for years. I had one 2 years ago when trying to figure out what I came down with when I was having muscle aches from head to foot for 2 weeks, happened again last fall for about the same time and I think it was psyatic  nerve related. Sign of something unpleasant to come I'm sure, but have never been diagnosed with anything.

Might as well go to a doctor that can give you a DOT medical card if you guys are hauling anything heavy on trailers or trucks, it never hurts to show the police you are making an effort. IMHO.

I get an annual physical through our company doctor, Dr. Knuckles, who never fails to ask if I would "like" a prostate check.  :o I tell him the same thing every time, I hope that no one "likes" the exam. He kind of gives me the creeps.

ely

been there, the other end would be the feet so yes i am talking about in the middle. i will choose the doctor carefully, i mean after all i do not want the ex pro football player type doctor with a superbowl ring :o

I kept mentioning getting a physical to Cowboy Bob for years.  Finally he went a few months ago, and to say he was "incensed" is putting it mildy.   :o

What did happen is that the doctor found a lump on his breast and sent him for a mammography.  The mammography concluded that he had to have a needle biopsy to test for cancer.  He had the biopsy, and I'm very glad to tell you that it was benign.  He still has to have the lump removed because it is growing and hurts him when he lays on his side, so he's scheduled for that surgery, May 19th.  In and out in one day.

We've kept our sense of humor about it now that we know it's not cancer.  My son's both put those pink ribbons on their trucks, and CB has taken no end of teasing.  When his friends ask him how his boob is doing, he tells them, "I'm up to a C cup".   :D

Get an annual physical!!
