Is there anything special about this other than the 1125CCA?  Any reason I can't pick one up local?

Thanks

I've replaced more than a couple over the years and always got them from local sources.  I think they're a deep draw marine type battery.  You have to match the CCA ratings and make sure it will fit in the box.  There is not much room for error.

I just replaced one with a like battery from O'rielly's auto parts. $125 it was.  >:( had to replace on a small milling job. $100 for the job minus $125 for the battery equals out $25. What's wrong with this picture?

There used to be two different types of marine batteries, both of which were 'deep cycle' batteries.  One was a deep, slow discharge battery for use with trolling motors and the like that didn't draw a lot of amps all at once.  The second is a deep cycle cranking battery that can take high amp draws and repeated deep discharges.  The cranking battery is the type you want to get.  One reason the batteries are so expensive is that they are made with heavier, thicker plates that are designed to withstand the vibrations in a bouncing boat (or trailered sawmill) without shorting the plates against each other.

The super mill batteries are a commercial grade. There are not a lot of battery companies that make a battery like this. Not any 1125 CCA will work. It is the plate size you have to be concerned with. Here are the battery suppliers that have one to replace the Deka we use. Thanks all
