I am in the process of building a firewood processor. I have been researching hydraulic chainsaws and would like some advise on a quality saw, suggested size, flow rate and model etc. I would like an 18" bar which should give me about a 15" cut. A saw with high tourque so it cuts the wood quick and easy. I would also like some information on where to buy the saw. Online company etc. I have been able to find several Manufacturers but very few retail outlets which sell the saw. It appears there is more information on a concrete hydraulic saw than a wood cutting hydraulic saw. Any help or suggestions I can get would be great.

Thank You

Baileys should be able to help. they have all kinds of stuff for processors and stuff that could be used on a homebuilt one with a little modification.

From what I've read, Fairmont seems like a good place to start.  You can buy one here.  Or look for a dealer here.

Stanley also makes a line of hydraulic chainsaws.  They are listed here.
