Been working the mutitek pretty good the last few days, when it isn't snowing, so I thought I would try the 6 way wedge.  Loaded up some larger dia oak and maple and swapped out the wedge.  Hmmmmmmm.....first DanG oak I put on the deck was top first (usually load butt first)  this log had been trimmed right at a fork, around 13 inches, with both forks cut at a steep angle.  cut the piece, it dropped into splitter box, throw the splitter into motion and........Oops >:(...stuck lika pig on the six way

now this happens on my regular splitter alla time and I use the big maul to hammer the piece off the wedge.  try that down inside the processor.  On the splitter ifin it won't get loose from the hammer I use the chainsaw to weaken the block.....try that inside the processor...chains don't cut metal so good

then it dawns on me.  the splitter slides over a central flat plate and is held centered by a bolt on.  take out the bolts and remove the bar, but I can't lift the 6 way with the oak stuck to it.  move the tractor, hooke the winch to the 6 way and use the grapple to kinda make a chain hoist set up.  pulls it right up and off.  Hit the 6 way 18 times before it got separated. :D :D :D

the bar in the forground is what goes over the cental splitter

in this view you can see the central wedge(black iron) and the slip on 4 way (orange iron) and if you look just to the left of my head in the shadow you can see two of the bolts tha hold the locating bar

I at times had this same exercise with my splitter, and have thought about a hook or puller that can be fastened to the hyd. ram, and use the return power of the ram to pull the stuck piece off the wedge. For the few times it happens, just a bracket or chain to drop over it might work.

Bt, that's what I do on my regular splitter just put a chain on it and pull it off.
Together we got this !
