I know I have fat fingered a few keys on occasion myself, like hit the "p" key when I ment to hit the "z" key, they are so close together. ::)

Mr. Bob, you must type with your mittens on.   :D

Don, at least you only really effected yourself.  I fat fingered something on the network here once and took down half of the network on the floor of the building I work in.  From the big boss's office to my desk...  no internets for you!

And if you think that is bad, one of my coworkers did something similar and took down all of upper campus (5,000 - 10,000 people effected).  And another coworker once took out *all* of our remote villages at one time (a whole lotta people effected).  I am happy to have only effected part of one building and you should be happy you only effected yourself!  :)

Now it is easier to understand why many places now require the email addy to be re-entered twice.  :)

Back in the day, when I was a 911 dispatcher, I had another unfortunate "fat finger incident".  The I-25 corridor had a bad ice storm such that we had a pileup.  I was dispatching for the Sheriff's Dept that day.  It was bad news.  Foggy, icy, very dangerous.

They had already shut down the southbound lanes because of the bad pileup.  One of my deputies arrived on scene and said the following, "Unit so-and-so on scene, shutting down the northbound lanes!"

Unfortunately, what I typed into the computers was, "Unit so-and-so on scene, sh*tting down the northbound lanes."

That stupid "i" key should not have been put right next to the "u" key!  The worst part is that as soon as a dispatcher enters something into the computer system, it is public record and cannot be changed.  I never lived that one down.

And hence why you now live in AK.    :D

Don, maybe this will make you feel better...

I fat fingered my admin account at work, three times and locked myself out. No other admins there, but the inspectors were there. It hurt to have to pull out my magic disk in their presence. :(

Don,

Good to have you back from Amsterdam.  Next time you go there, how about telling us beforehand so we won't worry about where you are  ::).

Trust me, I did not want to go. :o I hit the wrong teleport button.  :D :D :D

Last night was the first time I have tried to log back on at work and it wouldn't let me, kept giving me some garbage about checking my cookies. I checked, no body has ate them. :D :D :D

Well I need to tone back anyway, the new owners supposedly will be monitoring E-net usage. I guess I will have to go through forced D/T's. I just hope a good scrap doesn't come up like Big Stick and my sitting there reading as a guest and me running around outside and can't get in to help defend the house. ;D :(
