Woke up this morning to about 1½ inches of snow.
The birds are looking bewildered, but they know where the feeder is.

Woke up yesterday to between 3 and 4 inches of heavy/wet/sloppy white stuff. Oooo the joys of living UP north. haha

We only got flurries here, but it cleared off and got real cold. I'm worried about the maple leaves. They were out and they look sorry this morning...

We had 5" on the ground yesterday morning.  There's still some in the shade and piles where it slid off the roof.  The snow was frozen solid on the truck from the 26 degree temp this morning.

We got a frost that killed all of my tomato plants and the lone basil plant I've replanted twice as the winds keep shredding them. Anybody with beans up will get the pleasure of replanting. Luckily for us we have none up but it was darn close.

I use a product called wall o water on my tomatoes.  We had frost this morning but did not worry about the tomatoes in my garden. They are like two plastic bags sealed to form tubes that you fill with water.collect heat from the sun during the day and protect the plant at night.   supposed to protect down to 16 degrees.

SO..... That's where all of our snow went!!!   about half of what we should have gotten.  You guys are hogging it all to your selves.  That's ok you can keep it till next year.
I never met a tree I didn't like!!

I've tried almost everything you can think of trapper but we live on a ridge that funnels the wind to us. The day before the frost we had winds in the 40+ mph range.

We had 30 mph winds here the end of last week.  They protect the plants from wind also. I hill soil around the bottom  and place a stake in the center to keep them from blowing over,  When filled with water  I tie the tops in around the stake so they look like a tepee.  As an experment I tried planting a hill of summer squash under 2 of them .  It is too early to plant squash here.  They are coming up and now to wait and see what happens.
