I just found out today that a good friend of mine got killed this weekend.
He and his wife were at their cabin in Tomahawk and he was cutting some storm damaged trees.
One got one hung up half way down. For some reason he started cleaning brush underneath where the tree was hung up.

The hanger came down and hit him. He died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Larry was a great guy and a good friend.

I hope this will remind us to be careful and pay attention out there!

I hope he has a safe journey
Why not just 1 pain free day?

What a tragedy. Happens all too often out there. I was brushing last week and there was a bit of residual standing around the block. I noticed the top of a hard maple broke and leaning down onto a maple clump. So, I just dug out the flag tape and wrapped the clump as danger area. It wasn't a big top, but even a small top 30 feet up, semi-green, is still heavy when gravity works on it. Could take out a collar bone or even break a neck.

Even when we are careful bad things can still happen to good people.  Thanks for the reminder.
