Last year at this time I had just taken my little yamaha 1000w generator apart, life went crazy and I am now starting to work on it.I cleaned the carb and drained all the old gas from it.I can get it to run for a bit if I pour a little fuel down the spark plug hole, but i can not get it to stay running.Any ideas before i take it in for service?    Thanks Don

Soinds like you're not getting fuel,  the carb may need cleaning or be rebuilt.

For every mile of road there's two miles of ditch.

That carb is going to have to be disassembled and cleaned.  Spray carb cleaner will usually dislodge and clean the gunk out.  There should be a tube about ΒΌ" diameter that extends down into the bowl.  Up inside of this should be screwed a brass jet assembly.  A screwdriver will remove it.  It is the heart of the carburetor.
