I set a new personal record today.  I pinch my saw six times in the same tree!

I did a job for an old work mate of mine a few months ago and I had to cut him out of pinches at least 6 times a day. It was a mixture of bad saw and not able to see an obvious bind or else it was just an excuse to straighten his back every now and then and watch me work. :-\

:D Don't fell so alone. I've had two saws stuck in the same tree and had to get a third to cut them out .

If you run a saw long enough several things you will do .Rock a chain ,install a chain backwards ,dump oil in the gas tank and hang one up at least once .

I've done all of them way too many times. I've also put gas in the oil tank, and picked up the saw before putting the oil cap back on ::)

Also dropped a saw off a tractor fender onto frozen ground. Goodbye plastic air filter cover :'(

Just something about that tree.  The next two trees were no problem.

I've done this more times than I can count when going between saws that have the new "tool-less" caps to saws with the older screw on type...I'll screw on the older ones the same ΒΌ turn needed for the tool less and then wonder why my chaps and boots are covered in honey  :D

When I first started, back about 40 years ago, I got two saws stuck trying to drop a tree, and needed a third one to cut them out. I didn't take the saws off the bar and chain, and was just lucky the tree didn't stomp them. I also ran two chains backwards and couldn't figure out why they didn't cut. One more: I got the chain tangled on itself and couldn't get it untangled. Finally I went into the saw shop, and when I was walking in, it came untangled all by itself.

I hate it when I run out of saws before the tree falls over!! :D (Yea...I been there!)

I had three saws stuck in the same limb once myself. One had just a tiny bit of wood holding it in so I went at it with my multi-tool saw, and darn it all, if I didn't almost get that stuck!

You guys need more saws, I don't think I'd ever get all 30 of mine stuck in the same tree.  Steve

I have had it as bad as having two bars and chains and two wedges all stuck in the same tree at the same time while trying attempting to fell firewood trees along a road allowance.  Had to hop in the truck and head to town for another bar an chain.   ::)  When I came back to cut myself out there was my bars, chains, and two felling wedges all leaning against the felled tree.  Someone came along and cut it out for me while I was gone.  Still have no clue who cut it out for me.   I guess not all people around here are a**holes.  Most would have taken everything.

I talked to a guy who went to a saw shop to get a new chain. The shop used up the last of one spool and spliced to a new spool to get the length needed. The guy was back the next day to complain that 1/2 the chain was installed backward. That would partially solve the problem of putting a chain on backwards!
