Just had new PTO and new Tandem pump installed so no problem with flow and all functions work great except for the boom will not swing but half an inch in either direction. The travel pin is not engaged and if you keep your foot on swing after a few seconds hydraulic fluid shoots out of relief valve on top of swing motor. Just had mounted from older truck to this truck and before changing trucks swing moved. Any ideas what it might be?

hoses hooked up wrong on the rotor? somthing jammed in the gear? has the rotor gone bad?

twigg

I dont know about the hoses being hooked up wrong the only hoses they unhooked to remount the unit was at the tandem pump but i will check with the diagram in the service manual, I hope it is just something wedged in there because it was spinning fine before we took off of broken truck and mounted it to this one. Also the old truck's pump and pto were worn out to bad to rebuild so it has been awhile since it has seen the right hyd. flow and pressures. Maybe the correct flow has messed up the motor. Monday i will be back at the truck looking to see if any object fell in there from the move thank you for the reply.

if the pump puked is it possible that some debris got into the guts of the rotor? if i remember the filter is on the return side just before the tank.

twigg

so if debris got in there i need to take out and inspect? is there an internal brake in the swing motor?

twigg

Well got it figured out today, the swing motor guts were all busted up. So needless to say new motor on order.
