delayed shipments.

Well, rained out this weekend...same story for 5 months.
But, I got some necessaries done.

Alaskan is assembled and adjusted to bar.
066 has been cleaned up (came with 1/2 a tree, in kit form, inside the case...free!!!).  Clutch hub was a mess inside, but bearing was good.  Pulled the clutch and found a cup o'crap behind it to clean out.  Scuffed up the contact bits and inside of the hub, replaced .404 sprocket with 8 tooth 3/8", and wired the 7 tooth and .404 together, tossed them in the "toolbag".  Air filter was a real mess, but now clean.  Spark plug was good.  Fueled it up, took a dozen or so pulls to get fuel up to the carb, and....BRRRROOOOMMMBBBEEDDDAAAA...BOP...
BURGLEBURGLEBURGLE...BOP....BURGLE in a deep husky (small "h", not like the saw brand).

Set the idle down a bit, leaned out the idle mix a bit, beefed up the high speed mix a touch, and, DanG, I've got myself a saw.  It aint pretty, but she runs (I resemble that remark).  Put her down for an hour or so and went back.  1st pull, we were back on.  Not too worried about compression on this one.  This is one running machine.  Can't wait to put her into a log.  Just need the Aux Oiler and my three rip chains from two different places, and my 20" bar.  I'll have 2 of the rip chains on Wed, but leave for Montreal on Thursday through the weekend.

You know, there isn't anything that sounds quite like a big two stroke at idle.

So many trees, so little money, even less time.

Well them V12 Packard Rolls Royces in the Mustang fighter sound pretty mean at full chat.  ;)
I may have been born on a turnip truck, but I didn't just fall off.

a 2x8 for the little ones.

Fortunately, most of the logs are very straight and have very little taper.

Just to mention ...If there's any curve in the log the plank will follow it and the mill will follow that.
Every board will be curved, that's the first thing I discovered with the chain saw mill.

Mark to bad it rained, sure was looking to see it in action.
I sharpen my chain on the little sears saw and cut a bowl
blank. Now to turn it in to some thing. When you git back
give me a shout and will git to turning.
