Since getting my WM I have noticed that blades are a science all their own . Just wondering if the form has had any topics on the matter . Seems the discussion threads could go on for ever ! I know I sure have a long way to go before I even start to figure them out........

scully, use the search buttom at top of page.  there have been many discussions on the topic, from degree and set to hardwood and softwoods and what has worked best for any individual.  Namebrands are discussed at length and maintaining your own vs. sending them out.

i think if you use the search button at the top of sawmills and milling you get topics and threads in that category.  If you back up to the entire forum and then use srch button, it will widen your search some.  I personally am still starting to figure out some of those "band sciences" myself an have no opinion at this time.  hope this helps in your search

Many, many discussions on the topic. The discussions are almost always found in threads related to cutting problems. Are you having some particular trouble? It is such a broad topic that Jeff could almost start a new forum on just blades.  ;)

I agree that a whole forum just on blades could be started ,I have,nt had any troubles that I did not qwickly figure out but with the continuous development of new blades ,angles thickness width etc It would be nice to read current reveiws etc and most of all cutting experiances with all types of blades . I use only WM blades because of the resharp suport etc but ,it would be cool to have a feed back on performance etc. I will look around on past posts and do some reading ,I'm kind of curious

Try not to overthink and outguess yourself on the blade issue.  Use the blade recommended by WM for the logs and sawmill and you will be OK.
