Got Time for some more Newby Questions?

I got my new LT15 start put together and running!, been cutting some frozen Ponderosa Pine. Making lots of saw dust and learning, sooo I turn these round trees into squares first. I got some 10x10,8x8 , 8x6, 4x6 etc, I also cut some board and bat siding and 2x4 , that I stickered and covered , questions are... how should the timbers or cants ? be stored? I havent seen any of this fungus I hear about on here does it hafta be above 0* to grow? I'm planning to build a small barn in the spring , I've learned not to cut the log dogs or log clamps, still trying to keep blood off the lumber! This is a new and expensive hobby for a old broke down retired guy ! :P

Bosco - welcome.
Most sawyers and builders avoid storing and drying cants. Most take the can't down to the cut list size and sticker and stack that. It dries more quickly and evenly.
Now, you might be wanting to build your small barn using timber frame. Again, most timber framers want to use green timbers because it works well with chisels and drills, and is straight and true fresh off the mill. If you're doing the timber frame with dried timbers, score one side to manage the checking, then stack and sticker out of the weather.
You're in luck, fungus news above freezing temps to grow - the Southern boys might be a little jealous.
