The trigger lock on my saw has broken.  When on choking the saw to start it, the trigger lock does not work.  This causes me to pull the saw for almost 30-45 seconds before starting even sometimes flooding the saw.  Before I could prime the saw, choke it with the trigger lock on and it only took 3-5 pulls and it started.  Looked the saw over a few time and looked at schematics.  Went as far as taking off the handle to see no broken parts.  Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.
Guessing,so called spring in there? Not a coil spring either. A length of wire than a coil.

Not quite as good as repairing the locking mechanism, but a velcro strap will work until you get it sorted out.  Just leave the strap around the handle and slide it over the trigger for starting.  Some times it turns into a permanent solution.

if you are talking about what holds the throttle open when choked that is part of the carburetor
