i made the base and plumbed this a while back.  just got time to make a floor so the air can be drawn from 12 sq. feet instead of one.  made from the plastic container part of a construction tote.  i use the metal part of the totes for firewood.  i use this paint booth to keep over spray and volatile's out of the shop.

plumbed with 4 inch duct, but the lid is on the bottom and a 6 x 4 reducer fit well and held in place with the cap, with the center sawn out, screwed over it to hold in place.  yes it is a HF dust collection fan with blast gates to go between the engraver and the paint booth.

I like that alot. I would love that. I keep wanting to have a full paint booth. Especially for the next big project.

You can make a nice turn table with 3/4" pipe inside of 1" pipe and pipe flanges screwed to two boards.

Helps with spraying.

There's a fine line between turning firewood into beautiful things and beautiful things into firewood.

I have a plastic one from WM on top of an upside down clothes basket, but yes am trying to develop heavy duty more permanent hardware.  this works well for my plaques and coasters with my engraver.  aprox. 38 by 45 inches.

That's a nice idea. I have lots of the plastic from the IBC totes, as I also use the metal for firewood. It's so nice to only handle firewood wood once.

Technically, you're exhaust fan should be explosion proof (aluminum/spark proof fan blades, protected motor).  The other potential issue is overspray building up on the tubing or the fan.  In my booth there are exhaust filters to catch most of the overspray before it gets to the fan or ductwork.  And if any gets through, its already dry by then due to the distance.
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

you are correct @Brad_bb .  the floor is covered in paint arrestor fabric.  I take is all apart from time to time to clean it.  also if it was clogged, and I got lofting of the poly, it would build up on the motor fan perforations.  I have an explosion proof fan for the big paint booth I have for the future, with aluminum fan blades, and driven by a pneumatic motor.  this is not perfect and not used as a part of a business with employees.  It is better than nothing for me.  all good points.

the paint arrestor fabric is 2.5 inches thick and 18 grams density, 40 inches wide and a 300 foot roll for about 250 bucks.  should last me a life time.  so far works well for part time hobby use.  Just got a text from my brother in law, and he got a bunch of tarps, made to cover the totes with fire wood.  due to my upbringing, I still operat like we do not know where our next dollar is coming from.   :)
