I posted in the Router Sled thread awhile back about building my router sled and doing testing on a slab Dad and I cut and dried. Here is what she became! The TV sits on the top shelf and the DVD player and Wii sit on the bottom shelf :)

I had a bunch of cracks and holes that I filled with epoxy. I thinned the first coat slightly with lacquer thinner to get as far into the cracks as I could which worked awesome. All in all I did 5 pours, some on each side.

3 coats of finish with Deft brushing lacquer satin finish.

I got it all mounted about 10 last night and set the TV on it and called it quits for the night. I'll add another picture once I get the old TV stand out of there and the cluster of cords tidied up.

Really nice.  Like the way that it fits the wall.

very cool, I am sharing the thread with my buddy, who is making a corner TV stand and wants the industrial look.  love the floating concept.

I made a cardboard template to get the rough angles for the wall then once I had it cut to rough size I pushed it tight against the wall and used a carpenter pencil to scribe the exact angle of the wall. Clamped a straight edge and cut with a circular saw. The biggest gap is <1/16" which is good enough for me.

It is mounted to the wall with 1 1/4" angle, screwed too studs, that is pretty well hidden then 1 screw on each end going through the angle and into the shelf. It's real solid.

Thanks for the compliments! This is my first live edge project and first time using colored epoxy to fill cracks and knots. 8)

a neat choice of wood, did I miss what kind of wood it is?

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Forgot to put that in the main post. It is a branch from a white oak tree. The original crotch had 3 branches all in the same plane. I wanted to use it to make legs for a dining room table but one of the branches broke when the tree fell so I cut it off and made my own live edge, that's why you can see the end grain on the outside edge.

Here's the picture with all the stuff on it. Now unfortunately the whole shelf is pretty well covered by the TV. I was going for function over form so that doesn't matter much to me, the whole thing was an experiment that just went better than expected  :D thank you all for the compliments! Now if I could only my Dang zip ties to clean up those cords!
