I've had one for years. It's all there had it running a few years ago but dies fast. I'd like to paint it up and make a real looker out of it someday. I'm just looking for info now. I've search a lot and I'm confused on the fact that people state that all super 797s are all yellow. Mine is black on top and the cylinder number on bottom matches what is a super. So it is a super cylinder at least. But there is a web site if u google 797 Mchulloch specs it comes right up (actesinternet.com) and states the super had black breather cover. Can anyone clarify this and or give any info on it? I'd like to hear whatever it is you know🧐

That's the web site that states there black top covers and that's the only place that says that. Everyone and everywhere else's says the supers were all yellow, that standard 797s are black top. Maybe I'll have to join one of those Mcculloch pages😕

Just found this online. Maybe they had supers in both.

Mine has a black top as well. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, McCulloch used whatever they had available at the time. ;D I haven't tried starting it yet, I get exhausted packing it around.

Yep I thinking I'm doing a black top and a few chromed pieces. Yeah they are heavy but it's all motor 123cc! And these can be bored from what I've read. But I'm not doing all that. Nice wall hanger that I can say cuts wood.

Would look good on something like this
