Pigroast central upgrade.

The prime reason for our polebarn was to service the pigroast. Tammy wanted a kitchen out there for that. Well, for sinks, i used a pair of old wash tubs i found. Turns out i chose form over function.

The tubs worked fine to put water in, but the drains, 1/2 hole, plugged everytime Tammy tried to use them. She still had to haul pots and stuff to the house. She requested an upgrade.

About 20 years ago, before they became a thing, Pete and I found an old farmer sink at a yard sale in the free pile. We both thought the same thing. FISH CLEANING STATION! well as things go, it ended up behind the shed at the cabin and never used. Tammy and i made a mad dash up there thursday morning. Left at 9:30 3 hr drive, tammy mowed the yard, i mowed the fields and trails, we grabbed the sink top, now stuck in the dirt, hosed it off making sure we were not hauling home any stowaways in it and was home by 5:30.

Friday we tore out the old sinks, saturday we went and found a cheap base cabinet, replumbed everything and modified the base to fit the top.

The old sinks, we made a hinged top for and it can now be used as counter, then rolled out to use for iced beverages at the roast.

Should be no more clogs with reglar drains and strainers.

Did you put a couple of little cleats on the bottom of the lid to keep it from sliding off when people get a little over zealous trying to get to the beer? ;) Put one inside and outside to keep the lid steady in place.
