On my day off

Weather looked good so I took off from my day job
I thought I had better get started cutting some of the logs I have been collecting alll winter
I fired up the Norwood and started slicing
I ended up cutting 2 walnuts,2 white oaks, 1/2 of a white pine log, and a small maple log.
Next up is a red oak and then more walnut, and then more walnut, basswood, butternut, oak, I think I had better get going or I may be cutting until next winter
It really is a sickness!!!!!!
Then I need to finish the bedroom set before my wife finds out I have been goofing off :D

That is a good question. I was building 4 dressers all together. Economies of scale is what I was thinking. I started last fall but I only work on them a liitle bit at a time. I would say I could build one in a week if I had a week off. On my time frame I would say about a month and a half or so. I wish I would have kept track of the hours. I always say I am going to but I always forget. It is like saw milling I planned on cutting the big red and another walnut of around the same size on Saturday but something came up and I didn't get it started.
As an example I have been working on this spice box since about the same time I started the dressers
It now has hinges and a lock but still no drawers I just try to fit in woodworking around everything else :D

Got some walnut crotch drying right now for my first attempt at a spice box.  Make sure you post a picture when you get yours done.

I am so envious of those that have that kinda talent I've tried alot of different things like that but never turned out. I'm hopin some of my instrument makin endeavors come out with that kinda quality.

Sounds like your woodworking schedule is like mine, whenever you can find the chance, this past summer I built a dresser and crib for our son. It took about two months off and on for the dresser, finished about a week after he arrived:) The crib was a little later right around Christmas which again was about 2 months or so. My problem is it is way too easy to get sidetracked and have about 4 different things going at once :D

SWIS      GREAT LOOKING FURNITURE AND OH THE BEST IS THE SMELL OF THE WOOD.      qUESTION  HOW DID YOU GET SET UP FOR FURNITURE MAKIN.  HAVE YOU TAKEN CLASSES OR  :P :P :P BOOK LEARNED IT.  I AM GETTING READY TO START MY FIRST PROJECT AND NEED SOME DIRECTION ON THE EASIEST WAY ... LC RICH :P

I took shop class in Jr High, Then I took a long break and bought a table saw when I got married. I just started making stuff I used WOODSMITH magazine for plans. In my opinion they are about as good as it gets for detailed plans and step by step instructions. Then after that you just keep reading magazines and trying stuff.

Some turn out good some don't, I burnt the ones that didn't :D :D

Great looking furniture. 

LC Rich, as I tell my HS shop students, If it isn't dangerous, don't be afraid to try.  As far as books, a great supply may be your local HS, I know from past schools I've visited that they never throw any old textbooks away.  A couple that I like are Woodwork Visualized by Ross Cramlet (very basic), then go with John L. Feirer's woodworking and his cabinetmaking books. 

Don't be afraid to start, you may amaze yourself.
