some times the top is so high, you can no longer see the middle or the bottom.  that is sad.  also people who can do, do.  people can no longer do, teach.  people who could never do or teach, administrate.   :D.  this is why all of our medical directors are still practicing.  in other areas, some people were destined to administrate from the beginning.  not a compliment.  It is better to do, teach, and administrate at the same time.

Brain lapse, it happens, hopefully he/she was not hurt. Sometimes you don't even need the media. We were at a bad fire, 2 fatalities, and the water supply officer put in a radio call to dispatch for 2 more tankers because the loop was long and "We don't want to run out of water". Well one of the gawkers thought he heard the officer say 'we ran out of water' and that spread through town like wildfire. So in addition to dealing with the loss of 2 neighbors (one was just 8 years old) and what that does to the firefighters not used to such things, we also had to combat all the rumors and implications of incompetence. It's hard to prove a negative. I drive past that house twice everyday and I never forget.

Thats funny. Lastnight I had a defending your existence meeting with the board. They are going to send me a letter postmarked by monday letting me know their decision whether I get to stay in or they are throwing me out.

SO many times I wonder, why do I put up with this (admin language edit)

We do an evaluation on our membership on a yearly basis. As an officer it wasn't one of my favorite tasks.

There is no better way to train than realistic training. That looks like an awesome day!
